The Cyprus Tulip Festival which has been successfully staged by the Green Action Group for the past 4 years is this year for the 5th time going to be staged on Sunday 29th March 2009 in Tepebaşı village, in conjunction with the "Tepebaşı Culture Art and Protection of the Environment Association".
This festival has not only taken important steps in making us aware of the need to protect the endangered "Tulipa Cypria" (Medoş Tulip), endemic to Cyprus, it has also provided an opportunity to revive our forgotten cultural richness.
This festival has created a lot of interest in for Cyprus tourism and has now become firmly rooted as a traditional festival. As well as the usual gains from such festivals this festival has created an opportunity for social togetherness in the area. It has also provided a platform for our villagers to participate with their products and activities and has become an example of character of unspiled countryside, a pearl in the field of eco-tourism.
